Mayor hails Nico House
Blantyre City Mayor Wild Ndipo has spoken highly of the refurbished Nico House, which was opened on Friday.
The building has been renovated after it was gutted by fire in October 2018.
Ndipo said the council desires to see Blantyre City leading in infrastructure development and commerce.
"These buildings stand out. We would want a good city and I urge other companies to emulate this good gesture," he said.
Nico Group Operations Executive Chifundo Chiundira said the firm invested K2.8 billion in the Nico and Kapeni houses renovations.
He said refurbishing of the houses meant a lot to their operations because it would bring efficiency.
"Nico house is a flagship building for us because Nico Life, Nico Pensions, Nico General and NBS Bank operate from there so it will definitely bring efficiency," Chiundira said.
Kapeni has just been renovated and the group has refurbished Nico House which caught fire three years ago.
