Experience: Barend is well qualified with a distinguished career in all aspects of property development and investment. After obtaining his academic qualifications, he worked as a quantity surveyor in South Africa and the United Kingdom, after which he moved on to pursue a career in property development and investment. His previous employers include Grothaus du Plessis Partnership in Pretoria, South Africa, Silk & Frazier Partnership, London, United Kingdom and RMB Properties (Pty) Ltd. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for Eris Property Group (Pty) Ltd and is a core member of the management team invested in the business. He serves as director of numerous property development and investment companies. Barend is passionate about property on the African continent and believes that commercial real estate is an exciting way for investors to support and participate in the rise of the African consumer.
